Dr Makdissi joined the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, in 2004 as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. He directs the Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology programme of the undergraduate BDS curriculum. He completed his specialist training at Guy’s Hospital and obtained the Diploma of Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists. He has served on the Education Committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He has also served as the Dental Tutor for the London Deanery at Barts Health, the Faculty Tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons and as the President of the Metropolitan Branch of the British Dental Association. In addition, he is the founder of the Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Interpretation Masterclass providing UK-based CBCT hands-on training along with a collection of e-learning modules. Sarah began her career as a medical secretary in 1987 at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. After 22 years in the NHS she ventured into the world of private medicine, helping to set up a Radiology clinic in Harley Street, and then worked for six years as a medical PA at a clinic in Hemel Hempstead. In October 2021 she joined the Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology Academy team as Administrator.

Ian is the Owner and Director of Data Simplexity Website. Biography:
Amanda qualified as a dentist from Queen’s University Belfast in 2009. She worked in senior house officer jobs in South Wales before being appointed as a specialty doctor in Maxillofacial Surgery in University Hospital Wales, Cardiff. During her time working as a specialty doctor, she gained experience in managing maxillofacial trauma and developed an interest in maxillofacial radiology. She successfully completed a certificate in teaching and learning in clinical practice through Edgehill University and was appointed a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow).Consultant Senior Tutor in Radiography

Mark has over 37 years’ experience as a radiographer, radiology manager and NHS senior manager in London Teaching Hospitals.
From 2001-2014 he was deputy head of clinical design and commissioning for the redevelopment of St Bartholomew’s, The Royal London & Royal London Dental Hospitals, responsible for clinical design, equipping and commissioning across all clinical areas of this £1bn scheme.
Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in radiography education, as a visiting lecturer at a number of UK universities and presenting at national and international conferences. He took up the position of Senior Tutor in Radiography in 2014 and teaches on the undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in dentistry. He also lectures in forensic radiography at Cranfield University, Defence Academy of the UK, Shrivenham.
He has a specific interest in dental & forensic imaging and forensic human identification and has authored a number of papers and book chapters on the subject. He is module lead for Dental and Maxillo Facial Radiography of the NHS E-learning for health on-line learning programme and has recently co-authored a series of articles for Dental Practice Magazine. He is co-editor of the second edition of Brogdon’s Forensic Radiography, founder editorial board member of the Journal of Forensic Radiology & Imaging and a founder board member of both the International Association of Forensic Radiographers and The International Society of Forensic Radiology & Imaging. He is also a Fitness to Practice Panel member for the UK Health Care Professions Council.
He has been awarded the Fellowship of the College of Radiographers, The Gold Medal of the Society & College of Radiographers and a Winston Churchill Fellowship.
Consultant ENT/ Neuroradiologist

Dr Ashok Adams trained as a radiologist at Barts Health NHS Trust during which time he was awarded the Frank Doyle Medal for the FRCR examination. He undertook the PanLondon Neuroradiology Fellowship prior to appointment as Consultant at Barts Health NHS trust.
He has over 30 publications and a number of book chapters in the field of neuroradiology and head/neck imaging and has delivered a number of oral and poster presentations at international and national conferences.
His role as a head and neck radiologist involves performing ultrasounds to assess for salivary gland, thyroid and parathyroid gland pathology. He undertakes US guided fine needle aspirations and core biopsy procedures as part of a tertiary centre oncology unit (over 400 procedures per year). He reports ENT imaging studies that involves a combination of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (over 3000 scans per year). He is a core member of the head and neck oncology, thyroid cancer MDTs as well as general endocrinology, skull base, neuro-ophthalmology and petrous temporal bone MDTs.
He is the radiology lead for the salivary gland service that involves managing patients with salivary gland pathologies including minimally invasive techniques including sialoplasty and stone retrieval procedures.
In his role as a neuroradiologist, he reports both CT and MR imaging of the neuraxis working in the BartsHealth neurosciences unit that includes a level I trauma and stroke units (over 4000 scans per year).
In his role as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London he is involved in the teaching of both undergraduates and postgraduates. He is actively involved in original research projects as part of the Multiple Sclerosis unit within.
